The Pocono Environmental Education Center offers a fun, group glamping experience in their Yurt Village, cabins and lodges.
The Pocono Environmental Education Center is a non-profit center located within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, in Dingmans Ferry, PA. It is located on a 38-acre campus, surrounded by an additional 100,000 acres of public land, providing guests with a huge playground.
The PEEC has four yurts that sleep up to eight guests each, and four larger yurts that sleep up to 12 guests. Four of the yurts are ADA accessible. The circular, canvas covered yurts all have plywood floors, lattice walls, windows and a framed door entry. They are furnished with bunk beds, heat, electricity, and ceiling fans. A large stand-alone bathroom/shower facility has recently been constructed within the village.
PEEC’s cabins comfortably sleep 2 – 16 persons on wooden bunk beds with camp-type mattresses. The Cabins have heat, electricity and private bathroom facilities. Guests can either bring their own sleeping bags or linens, or they can rent a complete set of linens for their stay.
Four new Family Duplex Cabins are located on PEEC’s lower campus and sleep up to 6 people on each side of the cabin. Each side has 3 bunk beds and a private bathroom/shower.
Depending on the season, visitors may canoe or fish on the PEEC ponds or cross country ski through the vast landscape. Currently, there are four team-building courses, three orienteering courses, two sensory trails, 12 miles of hiking trails, several picnic areas, two campfire rings, an open air log cabin, a new large outdoor pavilion, and a gazebo.
