Palmar Tent LodgeStarting at $40

The Palmar Tent Lodge is Panama’s premiere beachfront glamping resort, offering eco-friendly affordable accommodations in luxury tented lodges.  Located on stunning Red Frog Beach on Isla Bastimentos in the Bocas del Toro Province of Panama, the property is perfectly positioned between the rainforest and the sparkling blue Caribbean.

Accommodations are available in private safari tents, a shared safari tent dorm, rented camping tents or you can pitch your own tent.

The private safari tents are cheerfully decorated and furnished with a double bed; a large, lockable storage trunk and a small table with floor pillows.  All the furniture is custom made using local materials and each tent has a lantern and fan that are powered by solar energy.  Surrounded by the lush jungle, each tent has a private patio area with handmade seating and solar powered lanterns, and a 5 gallon outdoor shower.

The safari dorm tents are very similar, sleeping up to six people.  Rental tents are available along with pitch your own spots.  Linens aren’t included but are available to rent.

The Great House includes a community general store, IPod player, games, a book exchange and a movie projector for rainy days.  There is a fully equipped Community Kitchen which includes a gas cook top, propane refrigerator, pots & pans, cooking utensils, plates & silverware and a BBQ.  There is also a community bath house and heated rainwater showers.

Activities include yoga classes on the beach, surfing, boogie boarding, fishing, bocci ball, soccer, volleyball, horseshoes, and much more.  Nearby, you can go ziplining, hiking, horseback riding, snorkelling, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, kayaking and caving.  The resort provides transportation at a very reasonable cost.
