Lake of the Ozarks State ParkStarting at $45
Lake of the Ozarks State Park offers a new kind of glamping adventure, with accommodations in rustic outpost cabins and yurts.
There are eight rustic log cabins, each with tables and chairs, a wood-burning stove and sleeping accommodations for six people. The cabins include two three-quarter size beds (sized in between a twin and a full) in the loft and one double futon bed downstairs. Outside, each cabin has tables and benches, and a fire grill for barbecuing or campfires. There is no electricity or running water in the cabins.
The yurts sit on wooden platforms with decking and have locking doors. There are three large windows to enjoy the view and a dome skylight that can be opened for ventilation.
The yurts feature a log futon, log futon bunk bed, coffee table, lamp and heater. The units sleep five with a maximum occupancy of six. The yurts do not have running water, and you must bring all linens, bedding and camping gear.
Outside the units are a picnic table, fire ring and grill for barbecuing or campfires. A modern central restroom and showerhouse, located within walking distance, is available during the camping on season (April 1 to Oct. 31). During the camping off season, a vault toilet is available and water is available near the campground check station.
