The Martyn House

Welcome to The Martyn House. We are a unique Bed & Breakfast where camping is glamorous and luxury in the wild means fine linens and gourmet meals, we call it Glamping. We offer three luxury sleeping tents complete with heat and private baths.

Our property is also the home of Jonelli Studios and Lucas Imaging. Jonelli Studios offers unique sculptural pottery and handcrafted all-natural bath and body products. Lucas Imaging is a photographic studio and digital print facility.

The Martyn House is an intimate event facility specializing in weddings and other celebratory events. Our property with our luxurious tents brings magic to all the events we host. Inquire about reserving the entire property for your next getaway or special event.

Our property has three beautifully decorated Gypsy Faire Luxury Sleeping Tents. Don’t let the word “tent” fool you, as each tent is beautiful inside with all the comforts of home while being environmentally friendly. All tents are heated and will keep you toasty warm. Each tent has its own 6′ x 12′ private bath with on demand hot showers and composting toilets. Each tent has a large 6′ x 12′ covered front porch with tables and chairs overlooking the woods or meadow. The bedrooms are 12′ x 12′ (double occupancy) with a small sitting area. The beds have luxurious bedding. Hot water may be heated for coffee, our own Martyn House special tea blend or hot chocolate. Reservations require a minimum two night stay (double occupancy) that includes a hearty breakfast for $180 per night.

You may also reserve the entire property to share with friends. This includes all three sleeping tents, which sleep up to 6 individuals or 3 couples and 18 acres of woods, meadows, trails and pond. We start by serving you a welcoming supper the first evening you arrive (after 3). Later that evening relax with friends which may include board games, croquet, bocci ball, horse shoes, a bonfire and music.

The next morning starts with a hearty breakfast on the veranda. The day’s activities can be as adventurous or relaxing as you wish. We can pack a picnic or have a gourmet lunch by the pond. If you let us know in advance, we can arrange a wide variety of adventures. These include mountain or road biking, hiking, fly fishing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, or canoeing.

We can also arrange for a variety of activities here at The Martyn House including a massage, yoga session or art class among others. You may have private lessons with Rick in photography or play with JoAnn in her art studio. Let us design the perfect retreat for you! The cost of all these activities and adventures is extra.

That evening after your activities and you have relaxed and freshened up in your luxurious tent, we gather for a candlelight dinner. On the final day you will be treated to a hearty brunch.

The entire property may be reserved for $1500 for the weekend (or any weekday – two night / three day stay) inclusive of meals and lodging only. You may also want to stay longer so make sure to ask about our other retreat/adventure packages!
