Cardboard Cooler Boxes

Attention eco-glampers… keep your bevvies or marinated dishes for the BBQ nice and chilled with this environmentally friendly picnic cooler.  Composed of 70% recycled cardboard, the Cascades ThermaFresh™ recycled cardboard picnic cooler ($19.99CAD) is perfect for quiet evenings with family or with friends around a fire, camping or simply for taking advantage of sunny summer days on the beach.

Made in Canada, the ThermaFresh recycled cardboard picnic cooler is a good environmentally sound alternative to limited-use coolers that are not recyclable. Thermal performance is the same, but the ThermaFresh camping cooler is recyclable!

Modern and ideal for glamping, camping, picnics and all nature outings, the portable cooler is lined with a NorShield® waterproof coating that makes it weatherproof and reusable. No need to worry about the sun or the rain!

Stays cool (5 °C) for 36 hours at ambient temperature (25 °C) with two bags of ice (one underneath food and beverages and one on top).

Is this cooler 100% recyclable? What about the liner? And what happens when the outside of the cooler (the cardboard part) gets wet? Is it subsequently out of commission then?

I’m keen to try these out but can’t seem to find them in the UK yet. At present we provide guests with cheap plastic cool boxes that don’t really fit in with the low-impact ethos of the site.

Glamping Girl – you are absolutely right. “Limited-use coolers that are not recyclable” are out and recyclable coolers are in! Anything that is more friendly for the environment can help combat the tons of Styrofoam that are thrown out every year that never decompose.

Where can you buy them?? WE are coming to Canada this summer for a vacation and would like to have several of these.
